It’s not too late to SEE AHEAD; What does your future look like?

Do this 1 thing to give you clarity.

Many of us are on a health journey to feel more vital, more energetic and more blissful, yet you may still find that something is always holding us back. Maybe we have certain triggers that have caused us to go in search of a snack. Maybe we have a limiting belief that prevents us from actually following through with our goals.

Whatever it has been in the past, what I want you to do now is just this 1 quick thing. You can write it or just ponder it. I do know for sure that if you do this you are going to feel differently about your decisions. Imagine feeling instant change?

From discussions with many clients I know that feelings play a big part in our decision making. Sometimes bad feelings lead to even worse health decisions. Other times it is not wanting to feel those sinking sensations of dread.

The one thing we all have in common is that we want to do our best. Frequently the issue is that we do what is familiar, as those habits or neural pathways are always guaranteed.

The familiar habits feel safer. We know what the result will be. We may feel judged by doing them. I know I have had wives tell me that husbands have commented on what they eat. They have even tried to curb their eating by sharing it.

We may judge ourselves. Often this is the harsher critic!

You look fat. Your skin is breaking out. This is just the shape you are…. As a result we buy clothes to camouflage our faults and accentuate our assets.

But what if we felt enough? What if your conviction was strong enough that you didn’t give in to that cake, desire a second portion or extra scoop of ice-cream? This next tip is to help strengthen that resolve where other strategies just haven’t worked.

  • STRENGTHEN YOUR RESOLVE

What I would like you now to do is imagine you are seeing your own obituary or tombstone. Bear with me I know this sounds grim but I promise it will be revealing.

And while you imagine this, I want you to think about what it will say at the moment you pass on if it was to be now.

Maybe is says: passed before his/her time (and you wish you had of looked after yourself a bit more for those loved ones.

Maybe it says: found time for everyone else but not him/her self.

Maybe it says something totally different.

Today I would like you to think about how you would like to be remembered.

Perhaps you are a role model to someone else, what does that look like? How would it look different if you were more energetic, healthier, active, and adventurous?

What would being healthier allow you to do differently?

By doing things differently what opportunities, relationships, or thoughts might you have?

Can you see yourself reading your tombstone after you have made your changes?

How does what you have learnt change what you will do from now on?

Once you have heard this, there really is no going back or forgetting. You are then making a choice about how you want to live your life.

In the words of Helen Keller “the most pathetic person in the world is someone who has sight but not vision”

So when you picture your tombstone, see those words, visualize how making healthier choices will change those words. How healthier choices are making you respond differently.

If you have read my other blogs or not you may now know your triggers and your limiting beliefs. You are more in touch with yourself and this means you are progressing along your own developmental path. Well done!

I know it isn’t always easy, it can frequently be confronting, but it is always learning and while we are learning we have the option to make different choices.

We only get one life, and each minute that passes is gone. Isn’t it worth making each minute count and by doing so gain a healthier, happier next minute, hour, day and life?

I am not advocating giving up fun to eat lettuce, merely to find more life balance for you. By being healthier we can have more balance. So think about how you would like to be remembered.

As Ellen DeGeneres said;
“…my point is, life is about balance. The good and the bad. The highs and the lows. The pina and the colada.”

So take a moment and think how you would like to be remembered if you made the necessary adjustments to help you with your weight loss. Notice that making healthier choices will be that bit easier now.
